A student can nominate one house companion on application form or on the online registration form.
Students stay with host families in the area. All host families are passed by The Department of the Gaeltacht and all adults in houses have full Garda Clearance. Breakfast, dinner, tea and supper are provided in all houses and laundry is done once per week. All bed clothes are provided.
If students attended Coláiste Bhríde before or heard of a house name you can put it down, otherwise leave it blank. We do our best regarding house choice but cannot guarantee it.
The college runs supervised buses running from as far south as Dublin but not from County Donegal itself. You would receive travel information approximately two weeks prior to course. Travel is extra.
The amount of pocket money you give to your child is at your own discretion but a good rule of thumb would be roughly €5 to €6 per day. The children will be taken on a tour and they may wish to shop while on it. All pocket money should be in euro.

There is no bank nearby and cash should be left in the care of the bean an tí, no cash should be left in bedrooms.
Students should take towels, toiletries, a light rain coat, swimwear and sun lotion. During the course the college runs theme ceilis and details of these events will be sent out with a pre-course email to enable students to bring costumes.
Students are allowed to have mobile phones at their lodging house for the purpose of contacting home only. They will be allowed to use them from 18.30 – 19:00 and at all other times phones will be kept in the lodging house by the bean an tí. Please attach a label with your child’s name on it to the back of their phone. Students may go kayaking on Loch Bhríde behind the college, this is an optional extra and costs €12. Students are also taken on a supervised visit to the beach. They are allowed to swim in a supervised rope enclosure and play beach games also.

The college has a large capacity but there is a limit and demand is high, therefore early booking is essential to guarantee your place..
